Mica is a one+ year old female who has had a rough start. She was found in December of 2015 in Lockport. She was badly injured and emaciated. When she was taken into care she was found to have a dislocated hip. Due to the extent of her injuries an appeal was sent out to the community for financial assistance with her costly surgery. A few generous donors came forward and Mica received the surgery she desperately needed. (Read more about in our old news posts.)
Over the next couple of months she was kept on low activity to allow her hip to heal and provided a high protein diet to replenish the nutrition she was lacking. Her health and injuries improved and she was moved into a new foster home for socialization where her new companions included other cats and two huskies. Mica continued to improve physically and began to work on learning to live within a family. Her initial adjustment period showed a slow start likely due to the pain of recovery and heavy medications.
Today Mica is doing well and finding her place amongst her furry friends. She is high energy and loves to rough-house!
Like many stray cats, Mica is learning to trust human contact and shows improvement everyday. Mica would do best in a playful and patient home where she can refine her socialization skills and adequately meet her high energy demands.
