Today was Pawed Pals first experience in the annual Selkirk Fair and Rodeo Parade – we had an absolutely fantastic time!
Our entry was a cat (of course ) and you can see by the photos that our incredible volunteers went all out with the decorations! Thank you to these dedicated folks and more for their creativity, time and talents – you all did such an amazing job! Appreciation also goes out to our steadfast and generous supporters at Best West Pet Foods and Pet Valu who donated pet treats; to Jamie Sasley of ReMax for donating PPAR t-shirts; to the Polinuk family who donated the truck (a.k.a. the cat!); and to our other awesome volunteers for the trailer and signage, and candy for us to distribute to the parade watchers along the route today! You all came together to make this event possible for us! Job well done!
Thank you to everyone along the route who waved, cheered us on and stopped us to chat about who we are and what we do! It was heartwarming to see such support and enthusiasm!
We took this occasion today to tell the world (starting right here in Selkirk!) about the concept plans for Pawed Pals future home – a full-scale animal shelter which will allow us to expand our services in the Triple-S region. We are very excited about the many opportunities this venture will bring in the coming months and years; and we encourage you to contact us to learn more and to get involved!
Thank you to our board, members, volunteers and visionaries who have made possible everything PPAR has accomplished to date and for setting our future goals which will enable us to do our very best for the many deserving animals who need our attention.
Please watch for news this summer as we kick off our capital campaign and beyond as we progress towards our goals!
We hope everyone enjoys the Selkirk Fair and Rodeo this weekend! We’ll see you at next year’s parade (and sooner – at more events throughout the year)!
